Neck Pain Including Whiplash

The Neck is located between the head and shoulders. It is often left unprotected. Neck pain may result from many different causes.

Injury to the damaged muscle, tendons, and or/ligaments, herniated or cervical disks, arthritis, (osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis) congenital abnormalities of the vertebra and bones or tumours.

Once your neck pain is diagnosed via your doctor, physio etc and you have had x-rays or a CT (A CT scan shows detailed images of any part of the body, including bones, muscles, fat, and organs. CT scans are more detailed than general x-rays.) scan or an MRI, (a diagnostic procedure that uses a combination of large magnets, radiofrequencies, and a compute to produce detailed images of organs and structures within the body) or an EMI (test to evaluate nerve and muscle function).

Whiplash injures are caused by the neck bending forcibly forward and then backward, or visa versa. The injury usually involves the muscles, discs, nerves, and tendons in the neck. Many whiplash injures occur when a person is involved in a rear-end car accident, or as a result of a sports injury, particular during contact sports. Symptoms incudes.

  • Neck pain, neck stiffness
